2011 Competitions
At the outset of every year our club looks ahead to determine which local festivals, U.S.A. National Championships, and World events we will compete in. The schedule is always subject to change, but at this point it is anticipated that we will participate as a club in at least the following events:
Arizona Dragon Boat Festival -- March 26,27 Tempe, AZ
San Diego teams were defending champions in the Open & Mix
500m and mix 1000m and fastest 500m time in 2009.
2010 SDDBT teams won the Open, Women's, Master's and Mixed divisions. In addition, our affiliated teams from the UCSD students and cancer survivors finished first and second in their divisions.
Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival -- July 30,31 Long Beach, CA
San Diego teams are defending champions in the Open, Women,
Masters, and Mixed 500 meter distances.
San Francisco Intl Dragon Boat Festival -- September 17, 18
San Francisco, CA
In addition, some members of our Club may participate in the following:
U.S.A. 2011 IDBF World Championships Tampa, FL
Aug 1-7th
Several members of the San Diego
teams also have been members of
the National team that represents
the U.S.A. in world championships.
AND...There likely will be more opportunities for us to compete in other events as the year progresses.
